System files are the most important for an Operating System and its related installed programs. Not only that infected files can spoil important operating system files. Viruses wreck your PC by absorbing computer memory, disk space and thus make the OS lazy. Typically these types of malicious files enter into your computer through internet browsing, USB drives, nulled or unknown software installation and phishing email links, etc. Virus, malware, trojan! These can be really harmful to your file/folder, storage as well as the operating system of your computer. Below you will find the steps along with the image description.

Not trying to be a jerk - simply stating facts mixed with my own interpretation of the usability of this proposed feature. This tutorial explains how to remove virus using cmd from your computer. MB certainly has the ability to run an on-demand scan of any file / location / storage media you choose, as does Defender. But those who use MB free product only don't have access to real-time scanning.Īs such, I see this proposed feature as a niche use - for those that actively disable real-time scanning of installed AV solutions, whether included by the OS or 3rd party, but still want the file scanned upon download.

As I have a registered install of MB, it includes real-time scanning, and now no longer disabled Defender by default when it is installed.

Some do not (or, to be more succinct about it, real-time scanning is a ' paid' feature, only available for those who subscribe or upgrade their product).Īs a tester and user of Malwarebytes, for example, I have it set so that it and Defender don't cross paths often, in terms of excluding each others scanning engines and required secondary files for scanning - but there is a possibility that they might try to scan the same directory at any given time, particularly my downloads folder, since I do *NOT* exclude that folder from any real-time scanning. Most of them will implement their own version of real-time scanning. Some of those work well with Defender - but some do not. However, I also know that a lot of people refuse to trust Defender outright, and many refuse to trust is solely, so they bolster their defenses by adding third party protection. Standard AV scanning is included in Windows 10, via Defender, and by default it *is* enabled for real-time scanning.

Malwarebytes does not support command line scan, so we can't add it.

Norton support will be added in the next update. Kaspersky Anti-Virus support will be added in the next update. We would like to ask our users to tell us about yours favorite antiviruses you would like to use with FDM and write us their parameters: path to the binary and command line args.īitdefender does not support command line scan, so we can't add it.ĮSET Security support will be added in the next update. Currently, FDM6 supports only these two: Windows Defender and Avast! Antivirus. However, FDM6 will also support some "known" antiviruses, so the user will not have to setup all the things, but just choose it from the list instead. For this, he will need to specify path to the antivirus binary file, which supports command line scan, and also specify the command line arguments. Generally, the user will have to specify antivirus manually. We're planning to add support of this feature in the upcoming release of FDM6.
